Here Comes The Swamp Thing
The promotional wheels have started turning for the imminent release of the hugely anticipated Swamp Thing by Brighton's Cakeboy. The original mixcomes in strong with a good time vocal breakbeat, all in the name of fun (don't be ashamed, fun's good!) backed up with a remix package that is so good it could potentially melt ya face... We've not held back on the remix with bass legend Calvertron (Trouble & Bass NYC, Fat!) delivering a percussive workout alongside Sheffield's man of Steel 'Kickflip' dropping his trademark sound like there really is no tomorrow. From across the pond Canada's Travino delivers a pearler of a rework...And if you like them drums overweight, and your rhythms off-kilter Socco Chico have supplied a remix so filthy it had to deliver in a unmarked brown envelope, serious, big and brazen.... Our man from the Med Hector Hernandez has been working the bass to awesome effect. On the Dubstep tip is JFB, a man so able on the turntables, Fatboy Slim ask's for him by name and Beardyman wouldn't use no one else. Next up Rhythmatic step up to the mark with their trademark sound, a superfresh twist on the original.

What Mutate Records is, is a label created by recording artists with over 25 years experience of making and breaking dance music, a label FOR artists by artists, a label for producers & artists tired of submitting their music, their art and their souls to mindless 'record label' collectives who don't really feel or truly understand just what it is that they are working and care even less when they fail to deliver the promotion, the interest and the dj plays that a piece of music deserves. Mutate Records offers an artist friendly alternative for recording artists. Mutate will function without the need for protracted contracts which means that the writers can release their music & ultimately retain their copyright & ownership rights - that's only right, right?!!
