Rhythmatic - 'Headz' OUT NOW!

One of the UK’s House pioneers Rhythmatic first graced our ears with Krush’s legendary House Arrest back in the day in the heady days of the 1990s... well good people they are back sloping out of the murky undergrowth after a lengthy sabbatical from which they only ever occasionally appeared from behind the musical shubbery to remix hand chosen cuts from their favorite label Mutate Records (dur! obviously!).

Next Release: Unique 3 - Serial Killer

F*** THAT!....was our first reaction when we were asked to do the write up for this release, our first thought was "who reads them anyway" and I still feel that way regarding the subject of reviews. We'll be honest, We don't read write ups much these days, We skip all that Hype and go directly to the tunes and that's what We advise you to do instead of reading someone else's bullshit on how good they are. SO if you are taking the time to read this all you need to know is Serial killer is lifted from the Unique 3 Album 'Invasive Signals' and the promo your getting has the original and two remixes from Profiler (London/UK) and Journeyman & BARRcode (London UK/Berlin Germany).

Mutate Records crew members Hector Hernandez (Spain) and Travino (Canada) have been extra busy remixing Heavyfeet over the Christmas period.
Working with Sounds gathered from deep space via the Lovell Radio telescope at Jodrell Bank, musicians from Pendleton College, Salford and the BBC Philharmonic Heavyfeet have created a belter of a track which has then been remixed in their own special way by Mutate's Travino & Hector Hernandez
Although there are some sounds in space, the lack of atmosphere makes them so faint we could never hear them. Luckily, using radio telescopes and instruments on space craft we are able to record radio waves from targets in the Solar System and deep space, then convert them into sound waves we can listen to.
In this exciting project Heavyfeet worked with three groups of young people from Pendleton College, Salford with a mission to produce music inspired by the sounds of planets, pulsars, whistlers and even matter falling into a black hole. This was then remixed by two Mutate Records Artists - Travino (Canada) and Hector Hernandez (London/Spain)

We’re feeling a little bit emotional .... this is our FIRST BORN album release! Seems like only yesterday when these beats were swimming around in mal-formed circles in their Daddy’s little sampler, lining up in mutated, crooked lines in readiness for the bright world outside. Well, album no. 1 is here now at last! and we’re MIGHTY proud labelents. Mutate Record’s first album release honours go to that Welsh Rare-8Bit - UNDERPASS who delivers a sublime slice of electronica that will stay with you for the rest of your live long days.

We Will Mutate... The word Pioneer envokes many a lofty image. Read through most DJ/Producer/Label biogs & you're guaranteed to come across 'the' word once. Mutate Records is not a pioneering Label, wasn't at the forefront of a genre creating wave of music, why ... we haven't even 'broke' an artist to the musical world ... well! not yet! What Mutate Records is, is a label created by recording artists with over 25 years experience of making and breaking dance music, a label FOR artists by artists, a label for producers & artists tired of submitting their music, their art and their souls to mindless 'record label' collectives who don't really feel or truly understand just what it is that they are working and care even less when they fail to deliver the promotion, the interest and the dj plays that a piece of music deserves. Mutate Records offers an artist friendly alternative for recording artists. Mutate will function without the need for protracted contracts which means that the writers can release their music & ultimately retain their copyright & ownership rights - that's only right, right?!!
